Career Readiness Program
PREPARING FOR THE FUTURE
WiTNY’s Career Readiness Program (CaRe) is a six-week long, career skilling program. Designed to provide participants career readiness training, CaRe covers topics such as Resume Building, Professional Brand Development, Behavioral & Technical Interview Preparation, and more.
What to expect?
Kicking off with a program orientation, participants jump right into a resume and cover letter workshop. CaRe participants receive tips and critiques from industry professionals.
Focusing on professional brand development, wardrobe, and elevator pitch, CaRe participants will walk away understanding how their professional identities are crucial to gaining entry into their careers.
Building from the previous week, CaRe participants will work on their professional online presence, learning about LinkedIn as a multifaceted career platform. Students will learn job search strategies, networking, and the basics of LinkedIn.
CaRe participants learn the basics of an elevator pitch, practice behavioral interview questions, and participate in break-out mock interview sessions.
This week focuses on preparing CaRe participants for technical interviews, with an overview of key skills and competencies that employers are looking for.
During our final training, CaRe participants will have a chance to test the skills they have developed over the course of six weeks with a mock-interview conducted by industry professionals. At the end of the simulation CaRe participants will receive feedback and have a chance to ask questions.

The Career Readiness Program closes with the WiTNY recruitment/networking event. We bring together the CaRe participants, WiTNY @ Cornell Tech, and industry recruiters for an evening of recruitment, community, and networking.
